BRAD LABEL
Founder & Principal Designer, LaBel Foodservice | Creator of ChefVue™

My foodservice education began with my father, Stu LaBel. Working in the warehouse and making deliveries for Wes Design, I was introduced to restaurants and foodservice operations across Long Island—long before attending culinary school.

My father began working with Frank Cretella at the Boathouse and later designed the kitchen at Lundy’s in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. That connection became personal when I completed my Culinary Institute of America externship at Lundy’s, working with Chef Neil in a kitchen my father had designed.

I experienced the industry from both sides: supplying the equipment and working in the kitchen.

My culinary background also includes Cole Drive Deli in East Meadow during high school, weekend work for Marriott on Long Island while a student, and Maxime’s while attending the CIA. After graduation, I joined a work-and-live program in Europe, working for the military in Heidelberg, Germany, and traveling to explore different cuisines.

Years later, the relationship my father began with Frank Cretella continued through my own work. Collaborating with Frank and Anthony Bucco, I worked on kitchen designs across much of Landmark Hospitality’s portfolio.

My professional experience also includes serving as a design consultant for the Culinary Institute of America’s consulting team when Brad Barnes headed the program. We continue to support CIA Consulting as needed, working with Chef David Kamen.

Today, that combination of equipment-business experience, culinary training and design collaboration informs my work at LaBel Foodservice. I approach a commercial kitchen as a working environment: what the team prepares, how service happens, where equipment belongs and how the pieces need to fit together.

Through ChefVue, our collaborative design and plan-review process, we bring that perspective to owners, chefs, architects and project teams nationwide.

Chefs designing for chefs—with an understanding of the equipment, the operation and the people doing the work.
